Zuckerberg Vs. Musk: Everything We Know About the Potential Cage Fight | #DaNews
Tech billionaires Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk first hinted last month at their interest in facing off in a UFC-style cage fight, an apparently absurd idea mostly dismissed as nonsensical talk. However, escalating tensions between the two and photos of them training with some of the world's top fighters have suggested that a billionaire brawl might indeed become a reality.
The idea of a cage fight was first brought up by Musk on Twitter, where the Tesla CEO responded to a thread about the upcoming Instagram rival app, Threads, saying, "I'm down to fight in a cage if he is, lol".
Zuckerberg replied the next day with an Instagram story showing a screenshot of Musk's tweet with the caption "send me the location", referencing a famous phrase from former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.
A Meta spokesperson confirmed to The Verge that Zuckerberg was serious in his response to Musk, stating that the Meta CEO's post spoke for itself.
As anticipation around a potential fight grew, UFC President Dana White joined in, posting a video wearing a Zuckerberg vs Musk t-shirt available for purchase on the UFC website.
White was quoted in a July 1st New York Times article saying he would help organize an exhibition match between the tech CEOs and that both wanted to fight, agreeing there should be a charitable component to the match.
Tensions between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk have led to the possibility of a cage fight between the two billionaires. While it initially seemed like an absurd idea, recent photos of both training and generated interest have made this fight a real possibility. We'll have to wait and see if it ultimately happens and what the outcome of this unusual showdown will be.
